Securus Technologies Announced Free Phone Calls For Incarcerated Persons In The State Of Louisiana

Recently, Securus Technologies, a leading inmate communications company, have partnered with The State of Louisiana’s Public Safety and Corrections Department to provide one free phone call, per inmate, per day from September 1st to September 7th. This decision has been made due to recent, severe flooding in the state of Louisiana.


There will be an estimated 250,000 phone calls placed within the state by the seventh of this month. These phone calls would cost families and inmates, approximately $300,000.00. These costs have been waived by Securus and the state of Louisiana.


Securus Technologies also announced that in addition to the week of free phone calling, the communications company will also contribute $50,000.00 to the State of Louisiana’s Inmate Fund for any needs the inmates may have.
